Automated Ice Plants

There are some situations where cold water does not meet all of the requirements of batch water chilling for concrete processing. American Geothermal's automated ice plants have proven to be an effective alternative to cold water.

American Geothermal Modular Ice Plant
One of the major advantages of the American Geothermal automated ice plant is the fact that it is designed to be portable and can be shipped anywhere and installed easily. The automated ice plant includes an ice generating unit, insulated storage, an ice transporting system, a weigh batcher, blower and all controls. The units are shipped wired, charged with refrigerant, factory tested and adjusted and ready to operate when connected to adequate water and electric supplies. Only three installation steps are required once the unit is set in place: connect to water; connect the condenser to a forced draft cooling tower; connect the power supply to the prewired control panel.

American Geothermal's Ice System For Concrete Cooling
The American Geothermal automated ice plant is simple to operate. No adjustments are needed for changes in ambient and make up water temperatures. One timer controls the entire ice making cycle, automatically stops and starts the water pump, opens and closes solenoid valves and starts and stops the conveyor for making and delivering ice.

Hot gas type harvest eliminates capacity robbing by sluggish oil accumulation in the evaporator which is common with many competitive ice makers. During each harvest cycle the hot gas blows out any oil deposited in the evaporator during the freezing cycle. The ice generator design guarantees that ice making capacity will be retained day after day, year after year for as long as the ice generator is properly maintained.

We have designed systems that can produce up to 43 tons of ice in a 24 hour period. If you need ice and you need a system in a hurry, American Geothermal is ready to assist you.
